Synopsis

Lies, Deceit, and Murder. These are things that an investigator with the Goodnight Detective Agency deals with every day. When the police require assistance, they call the specialists. You are thrown into the world of Goodnight, a procedurally generated whodunit? style of game where the world, the characters, the crimes and connections are generated each game.

Call/Response dialogue system set up with dialogue choices being tied to a dictionary that can be edited and adapted based upon conditions and events.

VR Brawler mechanics. Hits are based upon hand gesture, collision and force of impact to trigger reaction animation. Health and Damage system to trigger death state.


Pre-Production and Worldbuilding

1949… Dawn of Golden Atomic Age.

The world is recovering from the end of the second World War. ReignCo, A popular electrical power and gas company, has managed to safely harness the power of nuclear fission on a small scale. With the advent of the atom, ReignCo began to heavily invest in the rebuilding of Los Angeles after a nuclear blast near the coast of Santa Monica five years prior. New LA is powered by the “new and improved” nuclear energy and technology, once thought futuristic are now commonplace. New LA has become the city of glitz, glamour and the cultural beacon of the American Dream.

However, behind the vision of the future lies a seedier side of New LA. A string of grizzly murders have begun to plague the citizens. While many members of the NLAPD wish for the cases to be swept under the rug. Goodnight Investigations, a national detective agency, has a personal interest into solving the string of attacks and aims to uncover the dark secret that powers the American Dream.
